HOW STRENGTH TRAINING BUILDS SELF CONFIDENCE

We ask almost every new client WHY they want to start training and with no surprise majority say they want to get fit or lose body fat.

While neither of these are wrong, they tend to be about something much more.

We know all the benefits that you can get from training externally but the biggest changes we see from members who join and stay consistent is their self confidence.

If you were to ask any of our Staff members they’d all say they struggled with self confidence at some point in our lives. We lacked the discipline, consistency and support needed and doubted our abilities.

Then we realized how much an impact training had on our internal dilemma. When we started to care for our bodies, rather than punishing or penalising it, we shifted in to a positive mindset. We realized when our support system and community around us can lift one another up, rather than tear us down and judge us, we shifted our own thoughts.

We start seeing our posture change and how we address individuals. We start being more comfortable in approaching new people. We are more confident in our attire. We radiant with confidence.

We recommend asking yourself these 4 questions on a weekly basis. Write them down in the same journal or notebook and write the date of when you answered them.

  1. What was something you were capable of doing in class that surprised you?

  2. Have you shared your progress in the gym with someone?

  3. What are you looking forward to accomplishing in the gym/class?

  4. What positive words did you use to speak to yourself during the sessions?

Like most things in life daily practice is necessary for us to repeat over and over especially if we are looking for habit change.

Here is a sheet you can also use that we recommend doing every week (The setting expectations from the journal)
